Paneer Parantha

Now this recipe that every other house is in love with, is all about basic knowledge. Stuffed parantha is quite filling for the tummy and if stuffed with good products, makes an amazing recipe too. A lot of people have different ways of making paneer ke paranthey as per their liking; similarly, I am a little particular about making the most of the tender flavor paneer has.

While a lot of the people love it the simple way, I like modifying it so that it tastes a bit different than the usual one. Not that I never attempt the simple recipe, but if I did, why would I have a blog for food and share out with people… LOL.

So here is the recipe to a simple, yet flavorful paneer ke paranthey.

Ingredients:

  • Wheat Flour (Atta)…………….. 3 cups
  • Paneer (cottage cheese)………1 & 1/2 cup mashed
  • Potato………………………………….. 1/2 cup boiled
  • Coriander leaves…………………1/2 cup finely chopped
  • Mint leaves…………………………. 1/3 cup finely chopped
  • Green Chillies…………………….. 1/4 cup finely chopped
  • Red chilli powder…………………1tspn
  • Asafoetida ………………………….. 1/2 tspn
  • Caraway seeds (ajwain)………1tspn
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Add asafoetida, caraway seeds and 1/2 tspn of salt to the wheat flour and knead it. The dough should be soft and easy to pull. Let it sit for minimum half an hour
  • For the stuffing, add paneer, chopped coriander & mint leaves, chopped green chillies, red chilli powder and salt together in a bowl and mashe them nicely to let everything mix well
  • Pull out some dough, form a ball, and then flatten it on ur palm
  • Stuff it with the paneer mixture and wrap it nicely
  • Gently press the stuffed dough and coat it with flour. Roll it with a rolling pin into a parantha size, making sure nothing oozes out of the covering. There could be slight leakages, but that should not be a lot to worry about. Once it’s on the tawa, it should be fine.
  • Keep flipping it until light golden-brown on both sides

You can serve it hot with either pickle & butter or curd. Some even prefer to make a separate aloo ki sabzi!
